Very cool place. I haven't stayed there, but went horseback riding in the area and it's beautiful - and definitely not a major tourist destination.

Almost every accomdation in Las Galers is a 2 minute walk from the beach. Paradise Bungalos on the main intersection are on the rustic side. If you are looking for accomdations w/ kitchen check out the places that Juan y Lolo (juanylolo.com I think?) have available. A variety of sizes and all reasonably priced. (You will be there during high season though).

Las Galeras area information can be found at A Visitors Guide to the Dominican Republic's Samana Peninsula Most of what's been posted above is not on the beach or ocean in Las Galeras.
