Default Coming to Las Terrenas

I will be in LT the last week of March. Will I need $RD or $US or both? Probably a dumb question, but I want to be prepared. Hope to meet some of you while I'm there.

Although I don't plan to make many phone calls home(Va. Beach)--after all thats why I'm coming to LT, to get away from home for a week--could anyone tell me the cheapest way to phone the states.

Las Terrenas being in the Dominican Republic, you can of course deal with RD$ for all your needs. However, if you happen to have US$, or €uros, there are various "bureau de change" here... Prices will always be cheaper in Pesos.

Go to any internet-café, and use Skype (www.skype.com).
Otherwise, go to the Codetel office on main street.

Both.
Bring US-$ to exchange them at 'casas de cambio' (approx. 34 RD$/US$) into Pesos.
I use 'Herbon, CxA', C/Duarte # 194 (Main Street).
