Default how much to get to playa bonita or las terranes?

i have been to LT 6 times and always depend on my friends to pick me up at the airport. my american freind moved there 5 years ago and i have met so many great people through him. i wana try something new this time. my question is, HOW MUCH would a taxi be from santiago to las terrenas? i am coming from newark new jersey and i am not sure the best way to do this alone. any help would be appreciated. i have flown into the capital and santiago. i know el catey prolly has no american flights yet as that is so close to LT. A couple of times we took the bus "back" to santiago when i was leaving and maybe the capital too i dont remember. anyway i want to suprise my friends possibly near the end of august. i was just there for 3 weeks from feb 20th- march 12 and had GREAT WEATHER! Last march i went in 2007 it rained about 17 days of my 23 days. again thanks for any info.

If you are willing to consider it and take the extra time, public transportation will be a fraction of the price.
