Los Haitises from Santo Domingo

I've got several questions on visiting Los Haitises national park from Santo Domingo on a rented car.

1. We need to get to Sabana Del Mar, and there we can arrange a guided tour to the park, right? Are there any recommended guides \ agencies? Do we need to book it in advance or we can arrange everything just upon arrival?

2. From Santo Domingo it is best to take route #3 or #4? We don't need a 4x4 car, right?

3. How much a tour for 4 people in Los Haitises should cost? Is there a standard route most tours take or there are any differencies?

4. En route from Santo Domingo to Sabana Del Mar, is there something interesting to see?

5. How long it is going to take? 2 -2.5 hours to drive to Sabana Del Mar, 3-4 hours for a tour? A stupid question - when does it get dark - will we be able to go back to Santo Domingo before it's dark?

We will be traveling from Cabarete to Los Haitises in January in a rented car and would like to know where the best place is to originate a tour to the National Park.
