Default Best hotel in Samana for under $150/night?

We'll be there for 7 days, but we want to pay less than $150/night.

Which hotels would you recommend? We wanted to stay at Cayo Levantado, but it's way too expensive.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Do you want to stay in Samana the town or Samana the peninisular. If it is the latter I would carry on to Las Galeras - Todo Blanco is about $US90 a nght and is a beautiful and relaxing place.

Las Ballenas Escondidas in Los Cacaos between Samana town and Las Galeras is pretty idyllic and should cost under US$150 per night.

Hotel Alisei is well within your price range (well it was when we stayed there 18mnths ago). It is situated in Las Terrenas

I highly recommend Todo Blanco. I loved it! Right on the beach, walking distance to the internet cafe and restaurants, close to the gua-gua stop where you catcha gua-gua in to Samana city. Stay in Las Galeras! You won't regret it.

You can PM me for more info.

When do you want to go there?

Actually German travel agencies are offering specials for the Gran Bahia Principe El Portillo, for example 7 days at the end of July for 245 Euros per person, will be around 50$ per night and person. At the end of November youŽd have to pay around 55$. All inclusive!!! Could still be cheaper when booked by US/Canadian agencies.

The GBP El Portillo is the best but most expensive hotel around Las Terrenas, a really nice place, good food and very special cocktails ;=)))) I was there 2 times and really enjoyed it.

If you donŽt want to spend so much - there also are cheaper but easier hotels at Las Terrenas. At Las Galeras you find an a.i.- resort called Grand Paradise Samana, I was there in March, which actually is "sold out" for around 30$ one day, but food is said to be very bad actually. But at LG thereŽre lots of private bungalows, appartements...

Saludos

Have a look at Hotel Dominican Republic Las Galeras Samana Villa Serena in Las Galeras. Very romatic but within walking distance of activities. Todo Blanco is also very nice. (but doesn't have a pool and is less secluded - the price reflects this.) Las Ballenas Escondidas in Los Cacaos is lovely but there is a possibility of feeling isolated as it is sort of in the middle of nowhere. It depends what you are looking for. It is also easy to find a place for 50 a night that is quite acceptable. You can have a look at La Rancheta Homepage for example.

I always stay at the Alisei Hotel in Las Terrenas. It is
beautiful, clean and they have good security. And it is
within the price range you want.
