More architecture ratings: Santo Domingo

Given the success of the Puente Higuamo architectural ratings poll, it would be interesting to see what DR1ers in general opine about the many types of architectural styles on display across the Dominican Republic.

On this poll, on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being Impressive and 5 being Unimpressive, how would you rate the Santo Domingo skyline as seen from the Caribbean Sea?

A bit on the foggy or polluted side in my estimation. If you could just clear the air a bit I would go with a 3 maybe a 2....

Smog is certainly impressive. i was told by a reliable source that the SDQ smog was visible from the air as you cross the North Coast.

RE: Puente Higuamo: That type of structure is the cheapest and easiest to build...Anyone want to look at the books??? What a ripoff--even if it an imitation of so many others that are good looking.
