Hello:

Since the Canadian banking system is one of the top ones in the world, I would lean toward getting an account with Scotia Bank just for the safety aspect of having an account with a bank which comes out of Canada.

I think you'll find Scotiabank here is a separate franchise and subject to Dominican Banking law & proceedures, not Canadian ones.

They must have meant "products". i.e. Internet banking, Savings, Debit card, etc.
