    Default Building Green in DR

    I'd like to know if there are any major firms that build with "the environment" in mind, I'd also like to know how profitable that would be.

    When I say green, we all know what green is, it's better for the planet, but I doubt many Dominicans care about that, but there are other benefits to building green as well.

    Green Tower es además un proyecto ecológico, ya que utilizara materiales de construcción que no impacten negativamente la naturaleza y se instalará un sistema de energía renovable con el que funcionaran todas las áreas sociales del proyecto.

    APAP modern opens branch in San Geronimo

    Santo Domingo. - With a cocktail party attended by its top executives, clients and associates, the People's Association of Savings and Loans (APAP) has opened a modern building to house the new offices in San Geronimo, located on the corner Núñez de Cáceres and Amelia Francasci.

    The new branch reflects the need to expand spaces, services and product portfolio commensurate with the growth of this important residential and shopping area in Santo Domingo.

    "We had a pressing need, since the family of partners savers who was born in February 2001 with the opening of the first branch in the same avenue, grew considerably and with it increased demands for new products, new services and more space" , said Gustavo Ariza, Executive Vice President APAP in his welcoming remarks.

    He said also that the modern building was constructed under standards "Green Building", internationally accepted. In the case of the new branch San Geronimo, orientation towards the East can take advantage of 80% of natural lighting for interiors, complemented by the use of lenses with UV protection and electrical design of low energy lighting and air conditioners conditioning art.
