Default Obtaining Title

Does taking over 3 weeks to get an owner to get the title to my lawyer seem normal? I realize things move slower than where I am currently and that's a major reason I'm getting out of here, we live WAY too fast up here. But if I had to get the title to my house, I'd be able to get it tomorrow.

Thanks!

It somewhat depends on what you bought. If you bought in a condo complex that is not 100% completed or in a developer built community you may not get the title until a month or two after completion as the builder has probably not filed for the individual titles yet (and won't do so until completion). Most will hold some $$ in escrow until this is completed. If this is not the case usually (if the original title was clear) this should only take a month or two.

Is there any tax to pay to have the title?
My builder told me that but I'm not sure of that...
Thx
