Indeed there are and the intending new resident needs to be able to distinguish dodgy from non-dodgy. Not just about RE but about anything. Mission 2.

Because most people who look at villas don't factor in all the additional expenses. Pay for your own guards, gardener, etc. Full time with emp. taxes. It all depends on the person and how much money you have and how you want to live. For us a condo was the most cost effective. Most of the good condo's have 24hr elect. With a villa you have to have your own generator or some other power source. Just a thought.

Could be a problem. Most say no pets for renters, but ok for owner. You may need a good sized 2 BR or 3 BR. Talk to people in the condos. See if there other pets. It can be done, we have a dog. As long as their no trouble and you clean up after them you'll probably be ok. You have to look around for the right place for you.

Do the condos have much storage available. I have windsurfing gear, horse equipment, mountain bikes ect, ect. A condo might be out of the question for someone like me. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated.

Most of the condos we looked at have storeage lockers, but you'll have to ask. Some may not.
