I saw the Sun Village golf carts moving guests to Hacienda Resort yesterday, so I guess they are closing.

The property is scheduled to be foreclosed on 9/21 and is the subject of litigation in at least 3 countries, and will probably be tied up in the courts for some time. There are many innocent U.S. investors who could lose over $100 million dollars b/c of a ponzi scheme operated by the owners.

I am not sure how far Hacienda is into their construction contracts for additional rooms (at one point they started construction but then were halted by some licensing issue) on the Esmaralda property at the end of the beach.

It would certainly make sense for them to at least lease a portion of the property until they finish construction, since they seem to have some issues with the amount of luxury inventory available during high season.

The bank of course will be looking to unload the whole thing, but knowing the legal sheninagans of the system here, there will surely be some hang ups caused by lawyers of investors, staff, and suppliers.

I have a client that just informed me they have a reservation on October 8th at the Bungalows and I am assuming that is the Sun Village Bungalows.

Does anyone know if the Bungalows are still open for business or are they or will they be shut down.

It looks as though everything is closing up.
As of 4pm today the yellow crime scene tape is being put up at all entrances.
The Bungalows are part of the resort thus they will obviously be closing as well.
Terrible day for about 400 dominican families, and countless other good people have been affected by such greed and stupidity!
My heart goes out to all of those people...
