Thinking about buying a vacation apartment

I currently searching to buy a apartment in SD as a investment and to also have as get away for my family. I want it close from the beach (no more than an hour), plus I do not want to expend more than $100K USD. Can someone please guide me to a website that I could search and look for apartments available or advise what would be the best thing for me to do. Not sure if I should look for agent.
Please help.
