Default Etymology

How the term sankie or sanky panky came into existence is not clearly known; there are several explanations.

My wife came up with another one:
She says, that formerly people here, who were eagerly helping to carry tourists' belongings (on the beach) were jokingly called 'saco de panties' by their fellows, thus referring to the contents of the bags...

Food for thought?

Preposterous! by the way, was it your wife who came up with 'pariguayo' being derived from 'pay your way'?

PS. Rick, what happened to the goth that lost his way and ended up in DR1?

So if was derived from "hanky Panky", how did the "h" become an "s"?

By the way, the urban dictionary also has this entry: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sankis
