I think they would be normal to anyone who isnt a MARK....its a job.... they have a smooth delivery, they are probably easy going people to do what they do....they cant get mad fast, they have to always put the face on that they are happy and outgoing and THE GUY to be with....even when things go south....so , I think that if you were their highschool chum...youd be fine......
thats in general...because I know with guys who just want to rip someone off, it is easy to get a real dirt bag that NO ONE can trust....

I beleive that non-Caribbean are more susceptible to the tricks of a Sankie. Most West-Indians people know that there are "sankies" all over this world. If I go to Trinidad (for example), I am immediatly seen as a foreigner and prices are jacked up, I am sold everything and nothing...etc...But if I am Caucasian in Trinidad, not only will all the aforementioned happen, but in addition, I am also a "mark" for sankism (new word) to occur. I am an easy target for men to try to take advantage of me (is I am Caucasian). If I look like them, there is a more of a chance that they will be more sincere with me...Same concept in the DR.

Yeah that makes perfect sense.
Men never lie to women who look like them.

I don't think race has anything to do with it. If you're not dominican, you're a gringo/a, it's as simple as that. I'm black and my parents are from the caribbean but that never stopped my partner's family from calling me gringa when they first met me despite the fact that they all say that I look and dance like a dominican. Recently, they've stopped referring to me as a gringa but I'll always be a foreigner in their eyes. The point I'm making is that from my experience, dominicans just don't see people as black or white. If you're not dominican, for a sankie, you're fair game.
