That was just my point, it seemed as though you were putting yourself in a higher moral class by saying ....

BMW, Honda, Nice clothes, good family, nice home, barrio, window washer - it doesn't matter. Yes you do get treated differently when you dress nice, drive a BMW, live in a prominent neighborhood and speak with intelligence. But so does the one who dresses nice, rides the bus and speaks correctly. It is all in the way you carry yourself and what you demand for yourself. Not everyone is born with a "silver spoon" in their mouths but, most people want something better than they had before. In order to do that, unfortunately, you must dress the part and that includes the clothes, education, car, home and friends/neighbors. It's not what you know but, who you know.

There are people who are from the barrio who are scum and people who have class. There are people who have money that have no class. That's how it is.
You can tell who has class and raised properly who doesn't/isn't.
So many Americans have the bad habit of ALWAYS fighting for the underdog and that ONE exception. Usually, that one EXCEPTION is a rare occurence.
This is how we get into trouble with sankies. We always want to give the benefit of doubt instead of using common sense.
Yes, he lives in the barrio, he wears low slung pants, he has gold teeth, drives a brand new ferrari, can't sting words together to make a sentence but he told me that he has a scholarship to Yale. I never see him reading or doing anything but hanging out on the street corner. This is what he told me. I wonder how he afforded the Ferrari????? Geez, I wonder.
Well, maybe he did win a scholarship. Maybe Yale does have a learn to read program. Maybe he won the Ferrari at the church picnic.
No---- he's a low life drug dealer!!!!!
It's the same thing here. This is how we size up people.
The beautifully dressed woman who drives the Mercedes could be a whore and the gua gua driver who has a lot of drive can wind up owning a fleet of cars one day. But those are the EXCEPTIONS.
I am not a rocket scientist but there is no way that I am dating or hanging out with a gua gua driver. I could talk to him for a car ride but that is all. I can guarantee he doesn't want to be in MY world either.
I would bore him. We have nothing in common.
I am sure there is ONE or TWO exceptions out there but for the most part these 2 worlds don't want to mingle.
The people on this forum that have had successful marriages to Dominicans is because you didn't meet them at the AI resort. He/she wasn't in the animation team.
Everytime you start saying my wife/husband isn't like that it gives more fuel to the "emotionally starved woman" who is dating the sankie the false hope that their "relationship" is the same and that they are the exception. You don't tell the whole story. You met your wife at the church or through friends ..... not at the local Putarama.

Keeping up with the Jones'
[QUOTE]That is life, everywhere you go. My friend broke it down for me when I was car-shopping.
I was looking at the Honda Accord Coupe-a sporty looking car, 2-door, good for a single guy with no kids.
He told me how a BMW would be so much better because of what it would say about. ME as a person. Anyone can drive a Honda, but a BMW says something about the owner-that he has taste, is refined, has a good job and so on and so on.[QUOTE]
I can tell you from experience a BMW is not worth the headache. Buying a BMW for those reasons will have you in the poor house really quick. The only thing that I ever saw was expensive car payments and even more expensive repairs!!!! The same people that you talk about that think that you look important in that BMW were the ones driving the Honda or the Toyota, putting a fortune in their savings/retirement account, taking trips around the world, and telling the impressive BMW owner how much fun they were having while I was sitting at home looking good but couldn't afford to go anywhere my BMW couldn't take me!!! Now, I am happy with my "Toyota" and money in the bank. Sometime you do have to think outside of the box or that is what you will be living in when you get old!!!

Well yes and no, it depends who is paying. If you own a business, it's better to drive the best vehicle the business can afford to attract more customers. It'd be a tax write off, so the gov't is 'paying'. With a Maybach, Rolls, Ferrari, Benz, Jag ... you'll get a PO faster than the Yotota or Hyundi Pony

My friend was basically trying to talk me into a level of car that would make me look in the eyes of others as someone sophisticated and important, someone with class and a refined sense of taste.
He also told me that the Honda was the type of car that you drive if you hate driving, if you just want to get from point A to point B.
He had nothing nice to say about it. I trust his opinion on many things, but the Honda is still the car I want. It has exactly what I need, its reliable and even though I like the BMW very much(its' one of my favorite all-time cars) I am less concerned with appearance and what others think than making the choice that will make me happy in the end.
As far as I'm concerned, if a chica is with me because of the car I drive this is not the chica I want by my side. I'd rather drive around with a blow-up doll in the passenger seat.

The "Blow Up Babe" may not even be a viable option after you get your shiny new braces installed in Santiago!

A case of classism and casteism
Here is a character complaining about the behavior of a young white American lady because she does conform to the norms of a sector of the DR society or certain cast of his place of origin.
Chances are this lady went to the island to have some fun and get away from it all for a short period of time. So why the hassle?
Back home she may already have expensive car(s), money and good employment, but in his book she should be getting out her way in order to pursue some plastic individual that in real life she has already surpassed.
What really infuriates him is that he is actually been bypassed and supplanted by an individual of a lower cast.
In reality, after a good time she will be back in her country and going about her business. A business that among other things will include not giving the time of day to any foreigner like the one she left behind or for that matter, to any dark skin Asian.

You have no clue , do you? What cave are you from? Do you see how stupid you really sound when you have no idea what goes on in this country?
Let me clear up a few things.
My girlfriend will put you and your prettiest girlfriend to shame in her bad day. I do not need a motoconcho loving gringa to impress me I am doing way better than many people I know. So its not about me. Its about her and girls like her.
I can assure you, she has no BMW back at home and she is not coming from a very good family. If she was raised properly, she would have known better not to date a shoeshine boy type guy. It does not require rocket science to understand this simple observation. You maybe too dumb to see anything in your life until it hits you on your face, we are not from a rosie farm where you currently live.
Girls like her are in abundance here. they come from trashy backgrounds, thats why they are attracted to trashy guys here. They don't like classy guys because they don't turn them on anymore. The trashy and worthless a guy, the more appealing he looks to them. There is nothing there to figure out, its all clear in daylight.
She is with a guy who uses no protection when he is sleeping with whores in his ghetto and if he can't find a whore, he will sleep with the ugliest girl in his neighborhood who sleeps with anyone for a bottle of brugal. Most likely she is having unprotected sex with him because the barrio tigres use no condoms. he is definitely infected and she is too now. By now she is already calling him her fiance and paying for everything to stay with him.
So stop fantasizing in your tiny mind that she is a top executive on wall street and only came here to screw a windshield washer type guy and when she is back in her country, she will convert to a decent wallstreet business woman.
This is so stupid that I want to puke.
No wonder you women are played left and right by lowlife street guys. You deserve it.
