Have you ever heard of "constructive criticism"? I can't speak for anyone else, but what I wrote was in the spirit of helping people others also. Also because I am a man, I thought that I might be able tell you how the other side thinks. What type of feedback are you looking for? When you tell someone to look both ways before they cross the street there is no need for "feedback".

I have been to the DR and have hooked up with female tourists, and let me tell you they are alot more fun than the average dominicana and they don't bother guys for money!!! SWEET!!!

NOTE TO AZB-I'm not talking about YOUR type of dominicanas, I'm talking about the ones we tourists always run into.

They just don't care. They seem to leave their brains at home and I was shocked-SHOCKED!!!-at how they behave and what they were willing to do!!!!

Mind you I'm not complaining. But the OPs' story, which I don't believe one minute(YES YOU, YOU SOCK PUPPET) may not be true but I cannot put it past any gringa to behave in this fashion.

I've seen it and I have lived it, and its' pathetic-but boy was it fun!!!

By the way, you're not posting this to help anybody. You said so yourself that you had read the sankie threads and still got suckered. So what makes you think any "vulnerable"(meaning titanically, moronically, hopelessly stupid) gringa is going to learn from your mistakes when you chose to behave the way you did even though you had information at your disposal that could of prevented this from happening?

Oh, I forgot-Sock Puppet isn't real, anyway, so it doesn't matter.

I followed my hart even after i heard these stories.
I have met my husband in the DR at the hotel i was staying. He worked in Animation and i just wanted a nice vacation as a single girl traveling alone.
But things went different, i fell in love and because of my education i had the change to live in the DR. After 2 years i was pregnant but i had to go back to Holland and after 2 months he joint me.
In the 16 years we have been together now i had 2 more kids en my husband went to school here and even i known that he lived a different live before i met him we are still happy as if it was the first day.
i know from experience (hotelmanagement) that these man (Sankie) are trained to do what they do to keep the tourist happy and returning to the hotel because believe me or not many of the women on holiday choise to go there for that kind of fun. Most of the time because of there backgrond the will do the job and be happy but thats only how it looks from the outside (my husband is still not able to deal with the thinks he did in the past)
There are a lot of sankie that you have to watch out for but a Sankie can fall in love too a life a normal steady live. they are human afterall

Not saying yours was a Sankie since we know there is 1 or 2 Resort workers in the whole DR that are not, but I just thought I write that.

I too worked in hotel management for a while, in a big resort of the north coast, and I can assure you that sankypankism is NOT organized by hotel management, and Sankies are NOT trained by the managers neither.

Why were you shocked at the female tourists actions? Have you ever been to Daytona Beach during spring break, or seen th Girls Gone Wild video, or partied in Las Vegas. People often do crazy things when they are away from home.

It is not only the women who act differently on vacation, I have seen many men do the same thing. They are bolder, louder, and wayyyyy less cautious when they are in the DR.

Times when I've been in the DR, the Dominicans assumed I was Dominican and didn't bother me, but the Gringo's.....they were so bad, flirting, propositioning (when their wives weren't around), and beleive me, I never act wild and crazy. I dress conservatively, but I am very friendly and like to talk alot and meet new people. The male tourists were sooooo bold.

Well, "69" did not talk about sankiism in particular, just about the staff's obligation to keep the customers happy...

On the other hand the management of many a hotel does know what's going on between their guests and their staff and turn a blind eye.
Certain hotels have almost turned into brothels for certain female visitors and well known for their helpful staff.

Nobody seems to be unhappy...

The last time I was in the DR, I stayed at a resort and kept my eyes open, looking to see if I noticed any Sankies in action, but I didn't see any. I know it happens because of what I went through and have read on this site, but they must be very secretive, because I never saw anything going on.

I've been to Ft. Lauderdale during spring break, so I know.

Maybe I should of made this more clear. I wasn't shocked at the way they behaved.

I was shocked at how they behaved with me!!!
