I suppose it would be wasted energy to say the following, but my fingers aren't tired yet, so I'll give it a shot.
Telling a friend that he/she set themselves up to be a victim, is one thing, and it may or may not be true, but that's a far cry from sharing the blame.
Being out late at night in a dark deserted area may not be wise, but if the person were to be robbed, he/she would not share in the blame.
He/she would be guilty of a poor decision, or maybe not be a very wise person, but certainly not share in the blame.
The perp commits the act.
He and he alone is completely to blame.
Not the victim, not his mother for not loving him enough, not his uncle for sexually assaulting him when he was a child, not his daddy for beating him...
No one but himself.
One has to accept responsibility for one's actions.
To blame it on others is wrong.
