If you are familiar with this area of Santo Domingo let me know. I am going there and wonder if it is out of the way or dangerous to do alone. I can understand all languages especially the semantics of poverty so I am well prepared for almost anything. But I would appreciate any information concerning this particular area.

Los Rios is one of the Better areas of the capital. My in-laws family compound is there. Very upscale but like any upscale area it does have a barrio adjacent.
Just look around and use common sense. If the area you are in looks dubious then be careful.
