Arroyo Hondo is quite a large, mainly residential district, and it contains the hugest mansions in the country with long drives and enormous manicured grounds, all surrounded by heavy fortifications. It also includes smaller and more modest housing complexes, and even some pockets of shanty towns.
Santo Domingo's excellent Botanic Gardens are very close to Intec. There is a good selection of shops, malls and fast food places in A. H. but the area is noticeably lacking in bars, restaurants and nightlife. Worry not, the fleshpots of Av. Lincoln in Piantini are not too far away, just south of Av. Kennedy.
