Invivienda

I wonder if someone can tell me anything about a neighborhood in northeast Santo Domingo called Invivienda. A Dominican friend has just moved there and I am trying to find out something about the area, particularly regarding safety, before I consider visiting. Since I know nothing at the moment, any information will be appreciated.

Be careful...

Invivienda is a desolate dark and secluded complex of many small dead end or confusing streets..It is also one of the "hottest Barrios" in Santo Domingo..
I hesitate to go there with 25 years of experience in Sto. Dgo. and I am armed..
My best recommendation, depending on your experience and your lust for life is to avoid going there without a platoon strenth armed escort in the daytime and in any event at night..
For a 200 peso taxi fare your friend can meet you in a nice place nearby..

Thank you for your reply, Rich. It's not what I might have wished for, but that's how it goes. My lust for life generally involves maintaining it, so i'll arrange to meet my friend elsewhere.

well taken...trust me you will not regret the decision..anyone who you may have wanted to meet at your friends home can of course join them, where ever you choose to meet. As for not going to invivienda, you will not be missing anything and you may have saved yourself a bad experience...so its all good..
