Default La Capital After Curfew Spots.....

Where do the parties go after the curfew kicks in on weekdays? Where are the secret spots?

Caman!! can´t someone at least provide any details, by private message maybe? I´m enjoying my time here, but this "cindarella law" as I call it, is a real bummer. Are there no casinos or hotels that are exempt to the law, like ocean sands in Cabarete? I mean, for sure there must be a place that is owned by some politician or something that is allowed to stay open a little later.

Just carry your own bottle of liquor and ask the casino waiter for a glass with ice.

Like I said in another post The DR is dead as a party place (Thanks Leonel). Now that the "crime wave" is done with we can all sleep good knowing that our beloved politicians are taking care of us by making sure we're all asleep by 1:00 AM...That's my rant for the day...

Rafael: You do bring up an interesting question. I wonder what would happen if for instance a place could be open, not sell liquor, but play music and let patrons bring in their own stuff. The place just charges patrons a cover charge to allow them to come in and drink their own liquor in a safe place. I think I know the answer, but still curious. You're not breaking any laws, but I know that don't mean jack in The DR as this is not a law passed by congress to begin with, but a decree on a whim by Leonel and his compadres.

Actually, the curfew measure was the brainchild of Maj. Gen. Manuel de Js. López Rodríguez (aka El Cardenal) as a reaction to the scandalous nightlife of his immediate neighborhood, La Zona Colonial.
