I dig gazcue and not just because I live there! It is a middle class neighborhood. relatively quiet but still "dominican". I have the coconut vendor right out front all day, but the colmado is down the block and doesn't blast bachata all day.
I am within walking distance to the Malecon, The Colonial Zone, major casinos, tons of restaurants, Movie Max to rent flix, Baguette for French Bread, baskin and robbins for Ice Cream etc.
I am slowly making my way to more upscale living in the DR. . .lol. . .the first place I rented was a block off of Avenida Espana in Isabelita. The next place was after the cabanas in san isidro. Then I moved to ciudad nueva between gazcue and the colonial zone. Now I am in gazcue. I am thinking Naco or Bella Vista can't be far behind. . . .but I really dig gazcue!

I personally love the Naco area, just because that is what I am most familar with...what about everyone else....
I think everyone will say the place they are living now...I live in Zona Colonial,walk to anything I need....and has been very quiet and very safe...
comado delivers....Farmacia down stairs...ferreteria one block...major stores up the hill...banks all over..and the best restaurants...and el conde for watching....
