Default What do I tell the Taxi Driver?

I will be staying at the Mecure Hotel on El Conde for 1 Night. When I arrive at SDQ Airport, Which taxi to I get? - How much will it cost? - and What do I tell the Taxi Driver that I am going to? - Thanks so much!!!!

Generally taxis are a fixed price from the airport --If I remember correctly-- 1200????

Say - Hotel Mercure, Zona Colonial - Conde esquina Hostos (the address).

It should cost around US$25 - they will accept dollars - or if you're paying in pesos, about RD$800. If it's late at night, they might want US$30 or RD$1000 - but don't agree to any more than that.

Establish the price before you get in the taxi. As you come out of the airport, you'll see taxi drivers saying "taxi, taxi" and you will be ushered to the next available car. The drivers' association is called Sichala.

What I have found is they don't negociate at the airport. Maybe you will have better luck--try it. Going to the airport I've paid between 800 and 1000 but coming from- never.
