Default Going to Santo Domingo and want to do...

something different? If you are a tourist and are going to S.D. next week you might be interested in visiting (with me) a home for orphaned children in the heart of Santo Domingo. La Casa Rosada houses 52 young children under the care of nuns who have the attributes of saints.

If you would like to spend an hour or two and walk away feeling that you did something REAL good I would be glad to go there with you and arrange for a tour of the facility. (You can go to their web site for more info)

I have a driver and can pick up two people Tues or Wed of next week if you are located between Juan Dolio and Santo Domingo.

Contact me at johne482@hotmail.com

Default Thanks for the response

I have had several people contact me regarding this posting and have committed the pick up for Monday. If anyone else is interested and can get there on their own I will be at La Casa Rosada around 12:30 on Monday.

I have always wanted to visit La Casa Rosada. I will be in the Santo Domingo for Easter. I might visit. Let me know the experience of your visit.

This was the 4th time I have been there. Went with a lovely young lady that responed to this OP. She is serving an internship at the U.N. concerning Women's abuse, which was also interesting to me so, in turn I had a great day.
You can see and learn a lot more by going to their web site--google La Casa Rosada (Santo Domingo).
I storngly suggest you go and ask one of the 2 nuns (the slightly shorter one, albeit they are both very short) for a tour. Only 3 levels and you can do it in a half hour.
BTW--donations are cheerfully accepted :>
