Default Best Dominican Ron Anejo?

I'm a sailor, and like most of us sailors , love good rum. I have a pretty decent collection, and am arriving in SD this Sunday. I'd love to know of any great amber-colored rums made in RD, to add to my collection while I'm there, please....

Help?

Brugal, Barcelo and Bermudez are the three local Rum Distillers... all the Anejos are good, and they all make super-premium versions as well...

When at your local supermarket, buy a bottle of Siboney, the one with the red label...

Somehow it reminds me of the best rhum in the Carribean (Barbancourt 5 étoiles)...

Brugal, but gotta agree that Barbancourt is by FAR the BEST! I don't even drink rum though, I just cook with it (best in cakes to create moisture and flavor)and I can notice a difference. Brugal is second best but don't leave DR w/o lots of BARBANCOURT! I promise it will not let you down! I can't wait to go back and buy more It makes the best cakes ever!

Thanks for all the input!

Barbancourt is already well-represented on the shelf- I spent some time in Haiti last year.

Now I have a list to work with - fantastic! Are all of these readily available?

Again - thanks a bunch!
