Joining a Hotel

Can anyone provide some insight into clubs I can join? I went and checked out Dominican Fiesta Hotel and I liked it, and it is only a half mile from my condo. Any other suggestions? Will I like that place, any other expats there for the wife to hang with? The sales girl said around $650 USD to join with my family of 4, and $97 USD per month. Seems pretty high, but I need a club/ pool. And that one thread says they have the best hold-em poker table in SD there, which I like.

The Hotel Santo Domingo also has a membership programme, but I would have thought the Fiesta would have a better deal.

i belong to the dominican fiesta and it is great...................that price seems high though for the monthly,,,,,,,,,should be more like 40 US and the initiation seems high too,,,,,,,,could be because you are a new member or maybe you got your math wrong..............i live nearby as well, although i am not in SD at the moment, my five year old learned to swim there, when we're in town we go every afternoon................i seldom eat or drink there though.i find that a little high, the ice cream at the swim up bar is a good deal though.

What does "joining a hotel" mean? Is it like time-share? What advantages does it give you and what does the membership entitle you to?

Thanks for the replys guys. Rubio- you pay a fee to use the hotel facilities (pool, gym, etc.)

Hotel Melia on Independencia has a good gym and gorgeous outdoor pool. Joined for $350 US and $RD1500 per month for a single membership.
