Help Me Set Up Internet Connection Please.

I am back in Santo Domingo and finally found an apartment
after almost 3 months of looking.
I brought my new laptop - but I have no idea how to set it up and how to go about getting an internet provider that's best priced and most reliable one.
Any kind souls out there to help me please? Thank you.

Contact the phone company, Codetel/Claro and get a Flash line/DSL.
Prices are reasonable as is service.
Installation delays are to be expected.

Tricom is cheaper than Codetel - but it depends if you are getting a land line phone or a cable tv service. I have Tricom with cable as I just use my cell phone- installation was within about 4 days.
