What type of music you want to hear live?

There are many places.

Casino Jaragua has a merengue band playing at nights, every night (I think).

Thanks for the response, definitely merengue. I like big band latin classics, salsa...I'm a classical musician, married to a beautiful Dominican woman 15 years and living in the states...love the rhythm and passion of latin music. She has family in SD and while we're there we's like to hear some good live music.

Hence your nick... Travel to Santiago and go to Tipico Monte Bar Las Colinas for some Real Dominican merengue. Make sure your hip in in good shape.
