Lava stones for BBQ? Where??

Went out to Americana and bought the ceramic kind. Char-Broil Corning Hot Blocks (18). With tax it was at $595.

Ah, so these are more like small ceramic tiles. What is the size of one of the hot blocks? Thanks in advance.

Just a bit bigger then 3" x 3" for a standard gas grill of up to 13" by 19"

In a week? The BBQ was on last night and they work great, keeps the heat real well, even had to keep gas on low. Let me know when you're free!

The ceramic blocks work very well, IMO, moreso than lava rocks because the don't accumulate fat as much causing flare up. They alos don't have the "hot spots" like lava rocks seem to have.

I just got back from a trip to the US where I purchased two boxes of Grill Life pyramid shaped ceramic pieces at Ace Hardware for our custom gas grill.

I had them in my carry on bag and they did cause my bag to be searched after passing through the X-ray machine. I would have been surprised if they didn't look inside after seeing them on X-ray. There was no problem bringing them here.

Now if I could just find some good steaks.
