now the american and european models are In the Rd $100-160 thousand Range For S&W, Sig, Glock, I even saw a Few Kimber 1911's For Rd$250,000 And up! Now that enough to buy a Car LOL.

But I See Carandai Pistols seem To be Very Popular, They even Have a Glock Wanabe Witch Looks Pretty Tempting For About 86,000. My Vote is Go For Something that You Like And Feel Comfortable With, trust me even if it runs a little steep in price. I dont know about you guys but id rather have something reliable and confortable even if it runs high in price than something big, bulky and cheap For a low price. Like ive said: a life does not have a price tag on it.

Nice Gun, Recoil is Kinda Heavy, 15+1 Round Mag + 1 17 Round Mag Put about 80rds through it so Far Not a bad Gun.it goes for about 75,000 Last time i saw about 3 weeks ago.

Nice,Small,15+1 rounds Smooth,Recoil is minimum very Light to Carry Which if your gonna Carry Size should be Considered.

I think my favorite side arm ( and most costly pistol ) is the Kimber Ultra Carry. I did not know the Kimber name was available in the DR. Still at that price and for just a 9mm. No way. Has anyone had any problems with the effects of the sea air with pistols that are not stainless steel? Do you have to constantly clean and coat here, in addition, since the cost of a box of 50rds is so high, what is the law on self reloading? If you want extra clips are they a banned item on imports since I problem can purchase some cheaper in the US. How about clips in luggage import?

According to my Cousin Which is FBI. It is Illegal to take bullets or magazines in Any type Of Luggage because they are Technically part of a firearm.
But my two Cents are if u hide it Well who Will Notice???
If u Take Brass And Reload them i Dont think Thats illegal But then again they might ask question when they see them on the x-ray before exiting the airport unless u put them in a bag and take the bag out upon arrival IDK. If u have the Brass And know how to reload Go for it As Many dealers Sell Reloaded boxes of fifty At the Same price of 1800 Or more For Standard Fmj Or 2200 Or More For Jhps. I pay 2200 For new Jhps But inspect Every Single Bullet In the Box Before Buying.(annoyes My Dealer LOL) But It has to be done. I i could Reload My own Brass That would be Great. All the dealers Do this.
i buy Reloaded fmjs For practice at $1600 the Box of fifty.

The 1911 Kimber djuno mentioned is a .45 caliber, which i understand is not for civilian purchase. I believe all Kimber handguns are .45 caliber (1911 style) semi-autos.

Personally I think the Whole Not being allowed to carry anthing bigger than 9mm Thing Is just Way Out Of proportion. Ok Fine a .45????? Who in the world Would wanna Go to a country that 90 Degrees Is Cold And wanna Carry a 45??? But How About my personal Favorite the .40??

i suggest buying hollowpoints Right Along with ur New Gun as normal bullets will Over Penetrate and not Stop the burglar or thieve the Way u would want it to thus requiring more shots. remember what they say in the poligono 2 tiro en el pecho..si sigue 1 en la Cabeza.

i clean about every 2 weeks When im here when im not I leave it Locked in a safe which is Moisture Proof and fireproof im leaving Friday so i will Leave it lubed. No no real Issues with it unless u use Cheap Ammo Like the Refilled Bullets from the range. No Fte's No type 1, 2, 3 type malfunctions With the premium ammo. But use a Holster So Sweat or moisture from the body as u move cant Enter The Gun in any way. sea Air Effects Will not harm your gun atleast in my Area Of Santiago (which ther're arent any seas just rivers LOL. Now Anyone Living in other Parts Might have different opinions.
but when u go to the Beach be sure to keep it holstered in one of the Full Canopy Military type holsters so no sand Will enter the Barrel.
My cousin owns a glock and has never had any damage do to Moisture or the sea air.

Nice Kimber, I didn't know they made 9mm versions. It makes sense for a reputable gun maker to have calibers to fit pistol holders with different tastes. Hey, even the MRI(desert eagle) have a 9mm.

I don't think this has been fully explained, at least to me ( and I am not that thick headed, so I'm told!). What is the reason to purchase a pistol first then ally for a license (Cart before the horse?). If you are denied a permit is the a contractual agreement the store will give all monies back ( without restocking or handle fees)? If you buy from a private owner and you have to used a lawyer for negotiations, what about those fees ( just out of luck).
