I'm about to book my room now over the phone for 55 per night!!

i have searched on the message board to see if anyone has spoken about this hotel, but i guess I'll be the first!! I'll let you know how my stay goes.

Leaving Friday, and returning Monday.

My first trip to the DR and one of my friends in the US told me about this hotel, they said its the new "hot spot" of Santo Domingo?!?!

This hotel is on the "other side" of santo domingo on Carr. Mella close to Mega Centro. I have been to the casino and it's just okay. Tables are in Pesos and if you play slots they are in dollars only. I personally like the Jauragua casino better, but $55 is a sweet price for this hotel. Just remember you will not be near anything "touristy" if you stay at this hotel

Yes the 55 per night is a great deal, i have called and spoken to a few of there reps and they insure me that i will enjoy my stay and love the gaming atmosphere. they also mentioned a night club too.

I travel out of the US to experience other areas of the world for their natural surroundings.

has any one else been there?

I wouldn't take to heart what the staff says about the place, but it looks nice. The location is definitely not in the "center of the action" of SD, but near the largest mall in the country..and the airport, if that means anything. I look forward to your comments when you return.

i've driven by this place before....didnt even realize it was a hotel. i might actually check it out when i go later this summer!

The Mall... well, we visited it a few weeks ago. The major store in the complex is 'Jumbo' - we got a catalogue in the newspaper and thought we would check it out.

Well, if size matters, it's pretty big. Can't say I rate it though. Jumbo had no stock so to speak of - pretty slim pickings.

The saving grace - the mall has a Tommy Helfiger outlet store that is great! It stocks some larger, more western sized items (mens wear particularly had lots of sizes). Ladies wear a little light on but I still managed to pick up a couple of polos.

If it hadn't been for Tommy Hilfiger, it would have been a worthless trip for us.

But as they say, each to their own!

I will be in Santo Domingo for a week in July and so I thought I would check out this deal @ that hotel... the girl I spoke with was a bit rude, and she stated she had no idea what this rate was for, but certainly not for the hotel.... hmmm.... she took my name & number and stated she would call me back to let me know if this rate was valid.... i guess i will keep you posted....

i emailed them and they confirmed the rate with me, simple copy and past from their own website to show them the offer! LOL

i spoke with a Sara there and she has been great! Explained everything to me in great detail and ensured me that my stay would be fantastic.

maybe it was a new employee?!?!

ether way, i'll let you know how my stay went!!
