It is.......

;
What about all of the songs with terms like "mulatica" and "morenita" in them?

And what about the often heard phrase "El negro pega con to'? - and the people's love affair with Penya Gomez and dark singers and the like?

It's the same article, just posted on both sites. Check the author's name on both. Nothing shady.

Here's the organization he represents in New Jersey. Seems to be completely on the up and up. Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey (LLANJ)

I'd be more interested in knowing if it is true that the US Embassy actually did censure this Loft nightclub in Santo Domingo and why.

I had a similar experience at Tribeca in Santiago a few years ago. Never went back on subsequent visits to Santiago. Probably never will in the future.

The US Embassy didnīt "censure" the LOFT: they just made a public announcement, at a press conference, that all US Embassy employees were barred from going there. It happened after the LOFT denied entrance to an African American US Embassy employee. At the press conference, the Embassy said that they had had private meetings with the LOFT and other club owners over the years and that this was neither the first, second nor third time. This was about the same time when Sonia Pierre was getting all the press for the JFK awards and the SUGAR films were coming out so the country was taking a lot of heat for being racist...... but unfortunately it is mostly internalized oppression...
