Default SD Airport To Metro Bus: How Far Is It?

A friend of mine is traveling to DR in a few weeks. He generally travels into POP airport but this time he is flying into Santo Domingo in order to get to POP. He will be taking the Metro Bus to get to POP, so I was wondering where(once he clears customs and such) is he supposed to catch the Metro and how far is this location from the airport? Can he walk there or is a taxi needed(and if so how much will it cost?) thank you .

A taxi is the easiest. I paid about $30 last October. Not sure if the rate has increased.

I used Caribe Tours and understand that the Metro is a bit more although faster. I paid around $270 pesos IIRC so the Metro will be more than that.

EDIT: My fare was to Sosua so the fares to POP will be a bit less.

Your friend will have to take a taxi from the airport to the Metro Bus Station. It is about a 30 minute ride and the taxi cost is $30-40 USD. Once your friend exits the airport just go left and the taxis will be waiting and be sure to ask the price before entering the cab.

I have used Metro and Caribe tours and prefer Caribe Tours.

I say this in view of the fact that I had quite a lengthy wait in the Metro station which is somewhat small and claustrophobic to say the least...also, seating is very limited .
