I'm sure it's still closed. I wonder why????

Hey, good news on the car

You can also add to the list AKA Sushi Bar (our current favourite). You can find this at Max Henriquez Urena #50 esq. Lope de Vega.

We had a wonderful lunch yesterday at Vesuvio on Ave. George Washington.

Other favourites already mentioned are EAT, Mitre, Marocha and Sophias.

If you are looking for really good Italian food, I would recommend Le Fettucine at Ave. Nunez de Caceres #593 just north of Gustavo Ricart (next to Pizza Hut). It is not 'posh' - more like the little italian restaurants you find in Sicily. Owned by an italian family -the food is fabulous and the price even better.

Restaurant "Sully" is a wonderful little seafood place (Ave. Charles Sumner # 19 esq. Calle Los Caobas, Los Prados). The decor is very 70's. The staff are all dressed in dinner suits with bow ties. There lobster is to die for and very reasonably priced.

I recently went to Le Patio Restaurant inside the Sofitel Frances hotel in the Colonial Zone. Located on Las Mercedes, corner Arzobispo Merino.

The restaurant is set in a beautiful open air patio and has a very romantic mood and feel. The food was excellent and the service was the best I've ever experienced in Santo Domingo. Prices are moderate as well. I would definitely recommend this one.

Perfect for a romantic night out without totally busting the wallet.

Well, as wonderful as you and your bar/restaurant are, I wouldn't quite classify Mi Taverna in the 'fine dining' catagory.

But I will give it 5-Stars for being a fun place to hang out, with fabulous people and great food and drinks.

You want to spend money for fine food, visit Fellini.
Roberto Pastoriza with Churchill, left after traffic light.
