Default Spanish Lessons in SD

I know there have been many threads on this topic of which I have read quite throughly. Unfortunately most seem to be very "dated" therefore no real help in my case. My Questions;

1) What is the best recommended course of action for an advanced beginner level(if there is such a thing) Spanish speaker to expedite his learning on a fast track program? Yes the cost does matter as many things seem overpriced here.

2) Does anyone know of any decent spanish instructors profesional or otherwise, that comute to ones home for hourly lessons? If so what rate?

I have played with the primeleur and other similar online courses but not totally sold that this is the quickest/best method. I feel the above have definite value when combined with personallized instruction.

Please!! thoughts and advice from those English speakers who have already lived through this experience.
Thanks for any feedback!!!!

I would think that your best bet would be private tuition especially at the advanced beginner level - whatever that is!!! I teach spanish at peoples homes but unfortunately santo domingo is too far for me - live in Juan Dolio!! I charge 500 rd$ for a session up to 2 hours - most students fall asleep bedfore that time is up!! i am not sure if that is a reasonable rate or not though!

One option might be to contact the force in me through this board - he is dominican and teaches english and is more than capable of teaching spanish. He lives in the Capital.

I attended APEC on Maximo Gomez for 2 semesters, 2 hrs a day every day. Was good, except when I got to the intermediate level, they cancelled the 4pm slot and moved to 10am. When I work.... Its RD$4000 per semester which when you consider RD$4000 for 8 weeks, 10 hrs per week, its not a bad price.

I'm looking into Dominico Americana on Lincoln now to get my intermediate started, its more upscale and expensive, but similar course 4 days instead of 5. And they do an evening one too.
