Is the new IKEA STORE open in Santo Domingo yet??

Not yet.. I have a friend who is waiting to get married when it opens so that he can buy all his household items. Last I heard that he did n't want it to be finished to soon..

Not at all, that building is going up at lightning speed. I think it's a reasonable deadline for completion.

Been working for IKEA for about 12 yrs as a interior designer in the US (Houston,TX) and wish to move to DR and establish myself there! It's quite difficult to get information of this IKEA in Santo Domingo since its outside the IKEA family. This store will be a franchise. So once again, getting information in working(contacts,name,numbers) there is difficult for me. What I gather it will be open December the 2nd. But you know a business... it can always change. Of course the (Página principal - IKEA Santo Domingo) site is ment for locals when applying. But some say that they have difficulties applying online.
Couple months of when it opens and I pray that I will be there. I will bleed information as it comes to me and hope you do the same for me.
