I was in constant eye contact with the mom. She was rolling her eyes and sending me signals that she had enough of him. She even moved her chair back and was not even talking to anyone in the end when jimmy was there.

He actually tried to help you and her out and you ridicule him???? Why??? Are you the only guy on the island that can find a non hooker scammer??? I dont mean to attack you buddy but you have gone out of your way to demean this poor guy who is only doing what you and I do in our spare time. Talldrink, I can look at a person for 1 minute and tell you right away if they come from a barrio or a good place, I have a sense that AZB and Badpiece also have developed that spotting skill. Maybe you guys are not giving credit to the old guy, and maybe maybe the girl (not the family) is a money hungry slut which already have money but wants more (pretty unlikely, the shame with their pals would be huge and jevitos are a different breed than sankies).

Maybe the girl is clueless and wants to see what's been with an old men feels like, anyways lets give credit to the old man. He pulled something that is just unimaginable. Besides the story hasn't ended yet.

I would just like to add that you can meet a girl with class in a barrio and also a slut from a good family. So you cant just lump everyone together all the time.

Buddy, I am not trying to ridicule him, unlike you. I am trying to help him. If he gets some false confidence from your encouragement and tactics (which he did) he is setting himself up for something dangerous and humiliating. I am surprised to see you are condoning this type of behavior. If this man goes up to the wrong people, which I am sure he is confident enough to do, he will set himself up for something very embarrassing. badpiece , you should know by now, in places like these, you do not go up to a table where a mom, dad are sitting with a model like girl (20 yrs old or less) and try to pick her up. You have got to be kidding if the man in question is like her mom's dad. This is totally disrespectful and disturbing to anyone. If the girl is sitting alone with her friends, then its not so bad. I would have given it a try as well. but but, with parents around? no way.
I never got her card and yes jimmy did try to put me in contact with them. Mom didn't have a card so she took my card. This is when I apologized to her for my friend's behavior. She said, "it was nothing, we understand he is a foreigner and doesn't know (rules)...."
I like jimmy and I also think he a cool man but its not fair for you to encourage him to hit on girls with sosua tactics in places and with people like we are talking about.
At first, the mom was laughing it off, the dad was also cool. Then when he started to hold her hand, lights went off on mom's face. later in the end, she took a backseat and just watched. She made a few eye contacts with me and displayed her disgust.
Now if jimmy was doing all that to an even cuter girl in sosua, I would be on his side. But buddy, you do not do this in places where these tricks are not welcomed. Jimmy was lucky to become their friend. This does not constitute a pick up, only demonstrate that the people in santo domingo have deep tolerance and patience. If the situation had become ugly, you think we would have had a good night out? You think you would be taking credit for all that?

The events at this dinner has made for some very interesting reading to say the least-of course I was not there and therefore reserve opinion and judgement-however, thankfully we have yet to experience such events in our modest Friday get togethers- i can definitely see where in certain situations these actions could become very dangerous. I agree the city is very different from the beach towns in that respect.

Why are you all so quick to hate a guy that got a number?????? Do you all read only half the posts???? The family in question is acting so graciously that they invited him to a family party in a few weeks!!!! So graciously that the girl has called him after that night!!!!She has called him!!!,I was there to personally witness this. Let me remind most of you young studs out there on DR1, You people who are condeming him are much closer to his age early 60s than you are to this young lady early 20s for the most part. You guys need to look in the mirror and realize that you are no longer young studs you think you are either!!! . Most of you guys are dating or are married to women who could at the very least be your daughters so lets stop it with the holier than thou crap that I keep reading here.

Here's a good quote that I found on someone's sports blog that is very pertinent to what happened that evening with Jimmy and this Dominican family-

"Reality is not always so simple. When what I hear clashes with what I see, I go with my eyes."

I asked the Dominican family I was staying with if they would have allowed a similar scenario to transpire if it was them-they all said there is no way they would let a stranger put his hands on any of the teenage girls in their family like Jimmy did just for the sake of being nice.

What happened that evening was something that everyone at the table was in agreement with-the mother, the stepfather, the young lady and Jimmy.

That's what it looked like, and that's what it turned out to be. If not, Jimmy would not have received phone calls and personal invitations invitations from these people. And they definitely would not have let him wrap his arm around the daughter's arm.

So let's put an end to the conjecture until we hear from Badpiece as to what happens next.
