if he becomes successful in having his way with the girl, I would have to take an early retirement. I would be totally shocked. I know the mom was ****ed off when the jimmy was keep going to their table. If that girl goes for that guy then she is not what I had thought she is (girl from a respected family). But but, she is super hot and my man jimmy is one lucky guy.

To expand on the girl pickup subject: The guy had some degree of success but let me tell you, he was playing with fire.
If you are 70 yrs old and sitting in a restaurant (nice area of santiago or santo domingo) where the girl (20 yrs old) is accompanied by her mom and dad. You do not go up to her and start to hit on her, much less, hold her hand in front of parents. He was lucky that the mom and her husband (not dad of the girl) were cool people and laughed it off. The mom was quite upset and I had to apologize to her privately.
Now I am totally shocked the girl is actually calling him because she seemed way out of his league. But we don't know what the real deal is, she may show up with a plan or might bring her family to his place in sosua.
The bottom line is this: its not sosua and we should not confuse the girls there in such places as some easy chick. Jimmy was lucky to have this degree of success but he is playing with fire. If he does this with the wrong people, he could get killed for touching the girl. I would not have dared to walk over to that table and touch the girl in the presence of her parents. I am much younger than jimmy.

This is NOT a good girl, nor was this a good family!! Who decided on this? Based on what criteria?? On looks alone???? WTF!!!!!!!

So I don’t believe this was an actual pick up. Everybody at this place took this as a joke, including everyone at our table!

Badpiece, I don’t discount that you may have instilled some confidence in him and he gets kudos for having the chutzpah to talk to her in the first place. But we have to stop acting like this really went down the way is being painted on here!

I agree, it was not a pick up at all. The mother was really ****ed off and the dad was pretending it was a joke. maybe jimmy offered to buy some property from them or offered some business deal to the family and maybe this is why they are calling him. Or is it that he is calling them? remember he doesn't speak a word of spanish and the girl doesn't speak a word of english.
Mother is a dentist and the step dad was some businessman. I doubt if the girl could come alone to spend a weekend with a 70 yr old guy. It was embarrassing to see him go back and forth to the table and disturb their family (night out) dinner. The mom was rolling eyes but they were too nice to send him away. The foreigners still have a good reputation in santo domingo and to see this happen, just simply puts all of us to shame. No one was doing this except for him. He was all over the girl and lucky for him, the family was not some arrogant type. In normal circumstances, jimmy would have gotten hurt. He insisted on getting their number and pushed his number into them. Now why they are still talking, its yet to be seen. I bet the family has some other ideas in their mind. I am sure jimmy has offered them some business deal, real estate or simply offered them his house to spend a weekend. I am not sure what went on there but to say it was an easy pickup, is far from it.

Unfortunately AZ - I dont think it's the foreigners fault. Lo que se da, se coje. and if this chick is calling Jimmy, then again and again is proven to me that some women in and from my country will do anything.... for money.

I don't know any of you or the place you are talking of, but this 70year old man trying it on with a 20year old girl sounds quite embarrassing for him and others around, but to put the parents sitting at the table also,,, this is something that most fathers wouldn't have a second thought about getting up and painting the walls with this guy.
Obviously I have alot to learn about Santo Domingo, especially if this is acceptable behaviour during an even out with the parents and strange foreigners getting so friendly, even more so if they were actually unable to comunicate and smiling and giggling along.
It really just sounds like drunken antics from the reading. Maybe giving the guy confidence with a slight dose of reality (his age and real expectations) is a better idea. Is a 'nice girl' really what he wants if he is going for them so young?

Call it what you want but when we were first invited to the table the ladies were very happy to talk to us but I declined to stay because I was with my girlfriend. I thought my friend had no chance but things in DR are sometimes a little strange and my man had some confidence and it won the day. The young lady in question has family in Puerto Plata and will be driving her own car up to see my main man Jimmy on Sunday, I know this to be fact becaue I have talked to her myself. As for the family being angry with him why would they give him their number and invite him down for a family party. Why is everyone on DR1 so eager to put others down when they meet a decent woman? Myself included. I would not have believed it if I did not see it myself.
