Default Casinos In Boca Chica Area ???

Hello...
Are there any casinos in the Boca Chica area? I will be staying at Hostal Zapata. How close are they to this hotel?

Thanks....

There is only one that I know of in Boca Chica. That is the Casino located at the Coral Hamaca Hotel. It is a big all inclusive hotel and I have entered and gambled there once without paying any charges but it is smaller in size but does have your basic games: slots, blackjack, etc. I am thinking about how far it is from your hotel, hmmm, I would say about several minute walk or a 50RD ride by a motoconcho. Check it out.

Jeepers Howie you've been to BC how many times?

Motoconcho anywhere to anywhere in Boca Chica is 10 pesos days, 20 nights. Appropriate tip = 0 (zero) pesos.

Zapata to Hamaca is a 10 minute walk anyway right down Duarte, so unless you're an invalid, save your skin and stay away from idiot moto drivers.

I figured it wouldn't be too far from Zapata and we walk everywhere anyways. This will be my 5th trip.....
I have only taken a Motoconcho once after several cervesas laughing all the way to Zapata I think I only paid 20 pesos.....

Zapata is basically at the far end of the beach ( near Don Juan) and Hamaca is the other end. Walk Duarte all the way to Codetel ( the end of Duarte, basically) then left, up the hill maybe 50 mts., right on the Hamaca Road, into the driveway and the casino is right inside.

Curious given its fairly high price and abundance of noisy kids why the Zapata? You might, if solo or a couple, no kids, try the Don Emilio , the art nouveau-ish looking blue place down at that end as well. They were offering me a room with breakfast at US$50 a night with tax included in August. And right on the beach. Quite swanky rooms , by any standard and much better than Zapata.

Drinking then moto-ing is even more dangerous than moto-ing sober - at least you can jump off if they are not going too fast.

My one moto driver I trusted, since I'd pay him double for going like 10 km/h up to my hotel, died in May ending the which wins: moto or guagua debate once and for all for him anyway.

Thumbs up Zapata

Thanks for the casino information...We will have to try that one night.

I have stayed at Zapata everytime I am in Boca Chica and have never encountered noisy kids or any problems. It's always been couples or groups of friends traveling together. I really have enjoyed staying there and haven't found the prices too high. The people there are great !

Maybe next time I will try your suggestion and stay at Don Emilio.

We will be in Boca Chica 7 nights and then we will be going to Samana for 4 nights and staying at the Tropical Lodge. Do you know anything about this hotel?

Thanks for all your help. You are a true Boca Chica 411 !

Rick,
Wasn't thinking. I was thinking of having paid 40RD for two from Duarte to my hotel on a motoconcho. I assumed there would be more than one of them(2) and they would take separate motoconchos and said 50RD to be safe. I accept the verbal lashing.

I wouldn't pay RD$40 for two either night or day though. 20 is 20.
