It's amazing how a few years ago Juan Dolio seemed to be going the way of Boca Chica, yet now its booming way beyond believe! ..before long construction might just reach the Higuamo river, lol.

The Metro people informed me that the delay in construction of Las Olas is due to permits that were denied for building. Apparently they had been denied for a certain number of floors and new plans had to be drawn.

What number of floors are they talking about now ? Before it was 6 . May be they are going to redesign to more floors ( 15 - 20 ) ? ( ...LISTÍN Diario : The secretary of Tourism, Felix Jiménez announced that in this period of government the construction of towers of up to 15 and 20 floors will be authorized in Juan Dolio... he informed that they will have the development norms, and the buildings one next to the other will not be able to be constructed...)

I've heard that up to 8 floors will be able to be built on the beach side of the road however anything over 5 floors will need an elevator. I believe Las Olas was for 6 floors with no elevator so maybe now they will ask for permission to do 8 with an elevator.......??

Marbella by Metro project is about to be redesigned too. Instead of 6 towers will be 5 but 12 floors each ( before was 6 floors design ) to have more space between them and a public access to the beach similar to the one between Hemingway Club and Capella Resort ( a very nice one ! )...
