Of course you can book a Christmas vacation but you will have no room, no reception, no water, no light, no pool, no food, no drink!!!!!

No way will it be ready by Christmas - in fact I haven't seen them working on it for a while. Sorry!!!!

Matilda

Well, guess I'll start looking for another spot. Thank you, Matilda, for your updates.

It looks like it increased and new projets sites are opening. Furthermore I see some restaurants and colmados expanding. The future looks good

Personally, it would be very pleased to see more activity on some of the slower projects, such as the Las Olas project which appears to be orphaned with respect to the pace of construction taking place on the other projects. I have discussed this at length various times, and while there are always a few workers on the project there is a clear lack of energy thrown at this one- and investors are not pleased- including yours truly. Perhaps, after 5 years of having invested 1/2 the apartment cost, we will see something delivered- and this, despite whatever time measurement you throw at it, is an unacceptable delivery period. If at the open they have mentioned a 5 year window on the construction to take place, doubt there would have been many takers- but life is what it is and we will see what takes place by year end.

Its a shame- especially when you google.earth the area and see how very small it is in terms of actual size, that it takes sooooo loooong to see things moving. But, in the end, I am positive that the area will get better- despite the obvious.

Default Deterioration In European Sectors- Buyers?

Last month I wrote about my doubts that European investors would be flocking to the DR with buy orders on real estate. Now, with Europe much worse off than the USA, we see the effects of the overvalued currency and property markets there, squeezed with interest rate and inflation fears now closing the liquidity pipes.
Lets face it- there are no buyers. The market is depressed, and you might have to travel to Venezuela to find investors looking to flee Chavez or somewhere else to get apartments sold.
You might find page 3- European review of the attached as some background data- the review of the USA markets are also interesting from my investment associates.
