The regeneration of the beach in Juan Dolio is going to continue for another 4 km from Punta Garza to Guayacanes covering all Juan Dolio area , they got the funds already , probably by the end 2007, beginning 2008 . There will be 2 marinas in Juan Dolio . 1st near Albatros , 2d in Punta Garza area. There is no exact location yet to be sure. Lets wait for some renderings to come out.

Will be built in Guayacanes on the land of Vicini family - lot 17,000 sqm . 5 phases of construction of 5 years each phase - 25 years of total . 1st phase - US$1,500 millions. Will operate from 2011. Principal investors : Gaetan Bucher and Vicini Group. Construction will start by the end 2007. Colonia Tropical is not Barceló anymore . The Hotel is closed. It is under reconstruction to become a condominium like the other hotels in the area of Villas Del Mar...

Most condos certainly aren't large enough to accomodate larger families (8 people in a small two bedroom apt. gets ridiculous VERY quickly!!!)

Well...this one was an Aparta-Hotel and not a Resort anyway, people were just able to use AI cross the street in Capella Resort... and if to keep a Resort become unprofitable , there is only way to sell it as the apartments or to have some mixed use between a Condo and Hotel etc.

Ahhhh Dre......Sun Village is just the remodeled old Melia and that leaves just Talanquera, Decameron, COOP Marena.....back to just a few of the older (even tho' remodelled) smaller resorts. 2-3 stars at best surrounded by luxury condos that not too many people live in other than weekends and holidays....
sigh!
