Ok, can I get a little advice - very very early stages of thought and lots more thought and discussion to have with hubby. We would really like to buy something in DR. My husband is from SD but we live in the UK. What we would like is something we can use to come over and stay in and go to visit family and friends but also something of an investment that we can rent out when we're not using it. Are there any deals where you get guaranteed rental income for say the first 2 years? Are there many off plan purchases around at the moment? I work for an estate agents in UK and am in the new homes department so I do understand how it all works - well here anyway!

Any hints, tips, advice or information anyone can give me would be gratefully received.

Thanks

they should fix these roads immediately if they want to build trust with investors millions of dollars have been invested already in the area ,but the primary infrastructure , the road is a disaster, and these salesman use the same old pitch that the roads will be repaired when all the projects are finished. in DR that is a total pipedream

We at Metro Country we sell apartments/villas and the owners have the option to place it in our Rental Pool. We can not guarantee a specific rental income for the first 2 years or what ever time, we do not wish to speculate. We're still building aprox 350 apartments and if you're interested in more information plse send me a PM

The most stupid thing can happen is if they fix the roads before to finish the major constructions in the area ( with all the heavy trucks around every day and night ) and before completing the sanitary system ( oops we have to dig it up again !!!! )

Just important info for people who travel to Juan Dolio soon : A lot of projects around are under construction , but there are Hotels and Resorts functioning in the area , shops , restaurants , bars , colmados etc. And it is not dangerous to stay in Juan Dolio at all !!! There are no cases of any contamination bull... just mentioned in the thread !!!

half of the roadway or boulevard should be repaired for routine traffic and the other half should be used for the heavy machinery equipment and trucks but this would take discipline and some planning . talked to several american investors in the states about this condition and they agree that some improvement should be implemented during the construction phase it is called PROACTIVE MANAGEMENT u wait 2,3,4 or 5 years to improve the roads good luck :chine se:
