Cool

Well mikey007 ... you should come yourself down here and observe a lot of developments . As it was mentioned before a lot of plots inside are cleaned up , as almost no more beach front or on Boulevard empty lots available . European investors are overtaking the place right now . As always from Italy , Spain etc. And now from Russia . The owner of Meridiana ( Italian ) is buying all the lots around and cleaning them up , I mean the whole blocks ... As Momms mentioned as well many projects appear inside from Boulevard and more far sea front on the rocky coast . The huge Commercial Center is on second floor construction right now . Many small gated communities of villas around it are under construction as well . The Spanish RE Company Delta that bought Coral Costa Caribe is buying many lots around and they actually have bought a huge plot next to Guavaberry Beach Club and they bought INTUR , the company that Guavaberry Country Club was part of as well Coldwell Banker Dominicana . ( now it's Delta Intur Corp. INTUR - Inversiones Inmobiliarias y Turísticas, S.A. ) . The new Aqueduct's guys are connecting the new pipes to individual projects right now . Juan Dolio is growing every day .

Steve
This thread is 70 pages long and you have done a good job of posting pictures and updates of developments. It does get confusing to me because I can not tell what developments are actually totally built and sold. Can you (or anyone else who lives in Juan Dolio) show ONLY the pictures of finished condos? It is hard to figure out how many projects are dreams and which ones actually get finished.
I understand it does take years from start to finish on some development projects. I watched the signs for Costa de Sol "Development coming soon" for several years before anything started happening.
How many projects are finished, how many condos in each, and how many people spend any time in living in them?
Thank you for keeping us up to date. Please skip the drawings of future developments and show me what IS already there.

Another person was drowned tonight. Just off the beach where Marbella is being built. A Haitian construction worker who has been there a long time, has a wife and a family. As I sit here typing this I can here the drums and the singing at his wake.

When they redid the beach in Juan Dolio, no one thought about what this would do to the ocean. They moved the beach out so it is beautiful, but the whirlpools with downward current are now very close to the beach. Nobody cares whilst it is construction workers who are drowning - there have been 8 in the past 6 months - but maybe when a tourist every few weeks drowns then someone will do something about it.

The ocean in front of Marbella, and in front of the new Maxim bungalows is VERY dangerous. I hope someone is telling those who buy the apartments not to swim in the ocean but somehow I doubt it

The loss of human life if awful. Matilda thank you for posting this very sad news as I think all should take a moment and pause to think if the lost lives. Really the lack of "value" put on human lives no matter where gives one wonder as to the thought of what is really worth it. MY OPINION= NOTHING IS.

Metro have paid 5000RD$ to his family. That might cover the rum at the wake. As usual my husband and I have paid for the funeral and we will look after his family as much as we can. How many more people have to die off the beach here in Villas del Mar, until they realise what they have done to the ocean by moving the beach and putting curves inthe beach between each resort????

Any advice on what I can do about this would be welcome.

A sad Matilda
