Davidz I am sorry, but you look so professional and well known about this subject that I need another question please, what is the difference between new villas and remodeled ? is it better to buy villas built after 2000, or that really does not matter, I was concerning about the plumber and electricity and so on I deal here so much with old construction that I don't want to deal with old construction anymore I spent must of my time visiting Home Depot. Thank you.. Your advices are very useful...

If it was a complete renovation, one is not necessarily better than the other...but in either case it's best to know the builder or contractor that did the remodeling...dont be afraid to ask for references and ask to see the plumbing, electrical systems, etc. In many cases though, the remodeling is limited to cosmetics, in which case the age of the original systems could be an issue. Also keep in mid in the last decade there have been a few earthquakes and hurricanes in the DR which may or may not have affected the property...Before you buy, as in the States or anywhere else, have a qualified building inspector/structural/electrical engineer do a complete inspection before you buy, if possible...
