I can't help much with the photos. I took a few but they came out real dark. The concert was great. Frank Reyes performed for about two hours. I arrived a little after 10pm and the show got underway a little after 11pm. I bought two tickets outside the entrance for 500 pesos each. Actually the chica I was with bought the tickets. I am not sure if I got the gringo price or not. Either way it was worth every peso.

The super colmado was more than large enough for the event. There were tables outside near the stage and more tables inside in case of rain.

I spent 3 hours drinking Presidentes, cuba libres and trying to learn how to dance. It was one of my better nights in the DR. Plaza Espana in Santo Domingo frequently has live shows on the weekend which are great also.

Too bad there isn't a website where you can get informed on events in the DR.

Thanks jrzyguy for the tip!

I totaly agree! every time i go down i try to find info on who might be playing where. (i would schedule my trip around being able to see somone like reyes, raulin, yoscar or santos)

I lucked out on my last trip a few weeks ago. ON saturday night there was some sort of aniversary party going on for a business....and a whole bunch of bachateros and some regaeton singers as well...and even a good dj between sets. It was one of the best nights i've had in BC. finaly...REAL entertainment! THey should do something like that every week! IT was fun for both tourists as well as locals. If people are serious about cutting down on crime, drugs and prostitution...there needs to be something that takes its place. Live music and entertainment would be a good start.

Glad someone here on DR1 got to catch the show

If you had not posted about the concert I probably would not have known. When I arrived on Friday I didn't see any posters.

I agree with live events on the weekends, it would be great. It sure was a lot better than sitting at the Route 66 bar talking crap with the chicas.

The show was great. There was no violence, great security and a very nice super colmado. The owners put on a well run event! When the show ended I have never seen so many motos show up out of nowhere.
