Is it the flu?

I hear that there has been a lot rain in the DR lately and that many places in the Northeast as well as places in the south (ie Santo Domingo) have been really affected by the rain. For those who live in Juan Dolio, or near by, how has the rain affected the area? Is everyone okay?

Also, I hear that there is some kind of flu or at lease I know of 2 people who appear to have the "flu" that lasts about 2-3 weeks. Has anyone with this flu recovered recently? Is it really the "flu" or something else? And if you know of anyone who had/has it and is getting better, do you know what medication they are taking?

I'd really appreaciate any info on this. Thanks.

It has rained a lot in Juan Dolio but no problems at all. Just wet! We have nothing like the problems in the North. It has slowed down though and so far so good today, just very windy. No idea about this flu thing though. Don't know anyone who has had it here.

i was there in cabarete for 15 days and 3 days in puerto plata at an all inclusive (FIRST TIME EVER AT AN ALL INCLUSIVE) and the day we got there i started to get sick...was not sure if it was the flu or something else..but i visited the bathroom about every 1/2 hour for almost a week and a 1/2...we got back on wednesday of last week and i am just starting to feel better today
