Yes, I am meeting him down there. But I will base my decision, on what I think of Juan Dolio, since I have never been there before.

I have already decided to take some time off so I just need to figure out where in the world I would like to spend some time. I have tons of family in England (where I am originally from) so going to Europe is too easy an option. I want to do something different and hearing all the good stories about the DR from all of you is definitely making me want to spend more time there.

So if you have something positive to add, I would love to hear what you like about living in the DR.

I would love to read your blog if you ever start it. I agree - it is better to fulfill your plans and see how it is than keep on dreaming and not doing anything (kind of like me for months before I actually went to the DR and now I can't wait to go back and spend more time there ). Good luck and all the best wishes!

Can I taste your bread too??? Actually I love lots of German things - Bratwurst, Kaffee und Kuchen, Sauerkraut etc. Lived in Kassel for a year and have often worked for german diveschools.

That's good.
Sosúa has German shops, but that's a bit far for you.
I would think that you can also get German foodstuff in SD, there are two butchers I know of...
