Default Dialysis at Hotel Costa Coral Caribe

Hi there,

Does anyone know about the Dialysis clinic (Dialcaribe) in Costa Coral Caribe?

It is listed in Global Dialysis but the information is quite outdated as the last update was on Jan. 20th, 2003. Does it even still exist?

My brother has renal failure and after 2 failed transplants he still needs dialysis. He is only 26 years old and it would be great for him to be able to travel so I am trying to find out about what is available for him on the South Coast.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!!

I have never heard of a dialysis clinic there - assuming you are talking about the one in Juan Dolio. I would have thought the nearest was the capital - 45 mins away.

He is on a program right now where he has a Dialysis machine at home and hooks himself up 5-6 time a week. He does it overnight. It has worked great so far. Being away from home he would need to go every 3 days or so, no longer than that.

I was surprised to see that there was one in Juan Dolio listed on the Global Dialysis website but it is definitely outdated information saying the last update was Jan. '03. The next closest would be in Santo Domingo at the hospital there.

Has anyone had Dialysis in Santo Domingo or know anyone that has?

There is a dialysis clinic at Plaza de la Salud in Santo Domingo on Ortega Y Gasset.
I would imagine it would be fairly routine to set up appointments in advance for dialysis.
If you'd like I'll see if I can find the number for the hospital for you.

Hi MommC,

I would love to get the number from you if you could get it for me! I only speak a little Spanish though.

Thank you!
