Default How long does it take to get to La Romana from Santiago?

How long does it take to get to La Romana from Santiago? I'm travelling on my own car, I live in Santiago so I know how to get around in Dominican Republic. I'm most definitely taking the main highway. I heard something about 6 hours but I wanted to ask on here to be sure.

I would say 3 1/2 hours, unless you land up in some bad traffic going through Santo Domingo.
If you drive fast and travel in the middle of the night, you could do it in less than 3 hours.

Consider the starting point, where Estrella Sadhala meets the Main highway, and add on any in-town travel time.
How long does it take you to that point?
What are you driving?
Do you tend to drive over 100 KPH or 60 MPH?
Do you stop frequently on a trip like that?

I don't stop frequently but I like to drive safe, but not very slow. I won't go like 120 MPH the whole way...maybe 70-80 MPH.

I drive a toyota jeep thing i'm not even sure what model it is but it is very reliable, goes fast, has no problems. It uses Gasol del bueno...

I would only stop for gas and to use the bathroom to pee (maybe 2 times, 3 at most)/

3 1/2 hours sounds right to me, then.
Try to avoid crossing Santo Domingo at rush hour.
